Angelic child star
MANILA, Philippines - All of Angeli Nicole Sanoy’s hardwork has paid off. Magic Palayok had a successful premiere telecast last Feb. 28, posting a high rating of 11.1 percent people’s rating share, AGB Nielsen besting competition. Latest rating for March 2 airing was 13.4 percent. Indeed, Magic Palayok, directed by Joel Lamangan, is a fitting follow-up to Bantatay on the same timeslot.
“I have a child superstar in the making,” says Lamangan. “Angeli Nicole Sanoy has all what it takes to make it. Mahusay umarte, good attitude, very professional and the most important of it all, she really wants to be in showbiz. Thank God for talents like her. That is why I also included her in my 2011 Cinemalaya entry Patikul where Angeli plays one of the leads.”
Angeli started as an extra when she was four. Then, at eight, she begged and cried to her mother so she will be in showbiz again. With her mom’s blessings, Angeli guested in Magpakailanman and Maalaala Mo Kaya and auditioned as a young Darna in the series that starred Marian Rivera. Angeli passed the audition with flying colors and many other guestings followed including the movie In Your Eyes where she played the young Claudine Barretto.
As Jikjik, the cute and charming friend of Grazilda (Glaiza de Castro) had a great impact on televiewers and more so among GMA 7 executives. She was handpicked to play the lead role of Cookie in Magic Palayok.
Magic Palayok also stars Carla Abellana, Geoff Eigenmann, Cherie Gil, Manilyn Reynes, Chynna Ortaleza and Mikee Cojuangco.
