The lady is a champ
MANILA, Philippines - Her interesting looks can pass for a beauty queen. Her refreshing face can align with local movie stars. But for Abigail Reyes, she’d rather enjoy her chosen sports where she excels than be tempted to try other avenues. She believes the field of sports is as blissful as a beauty title or as shining as a movie star. The only difference is, in sports one needs more than a beautiful face but skills and perfection through years of practice.
In the recent 39th Paraw Regatta Festival in Iloilo where jetski race was a part of the event, Abigail came out as the champion in the Jetski Novice Four Stroke division. The only female participant, she swept all the 16 boys contestants to emerge on top.
Abigail or Abby was in other sports during her school days. Before focusing on jetski, she was a member of the CSA Soccer Girls Varsity Team-2002 in Colegio de San Agustin where she spent her primary and secondary grades. Her collegiate years were at De La Salle-College of St. Benilde where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration course. She is also into golf and wakeboarding. But she excels in jetski. In fact, she had represented the Philippines in the Thailand Jetski World/King’s Cup and in Arizona Jetski World Finals.
After graduation, Abby intended to study further in New York or London. But she opted to work as customer marketing head in the Commercial Division of Coca Cola Bottlers Philippines, in gratitude for the company’s tireless support to her chosen sport.
If not in a monkey ride on her jetski, Abby enjoys lounging at the beach, dining out enjoying conversations on history and culture.
