UPOU turns 16

MANILA, Philippines - University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) will celebrate its 16th anniversary with the theme, “Learners in the Digital Age: Knowledge Creation Using Web Technologies” on Feb. 28 to March 4 at the UPOU Headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna. It will be a week-long celebration which incorporates the celebration of International Women’s Month and the opening of the International Year of the Forests. UP President Alfred Pascual will grace the event.

On Feb. 28, the first UPOU Student Forum and Poster Presentation will be held at the UPOU Centennial Center for Digital Learning. Select students will present papers and posters on their experiences as distance learners. The anniversary exhibit, on the other hand, will feature multimedia resources from the university and its students, and photo competition entries. The UPOU Learner’s Hall will be inaugurated. The celebration ends with the anniversary program and a dinner party for UPOU partners.
