Machete special

MANILA, Philippines - The pilot week of GMA 7’s newest masterpiece Machete will have a special re-run dubbed Ang Muling Pagsilip Sa Bagong Machete today after Wish Ko Lang.

Viewers will have the chance to witness once more how from an audacious ancient warrior, Machete (played by Aljur Abrenica) was transformed into a tree after getting killed in a battle.

Centuries later, the tree becomes the favorite subject of a deformed sketcher named Rosella (Bela Padilla) who would later sell her drawing to Marla (Ryza Cenon), a talented, beautiful sculptress. Marla finds Rosella’s drawing and turns it into a wooden statue.

By a startling twist of fate, the statue of Machete comes alive, signaling the start of his unfinished and unrelenting quest for his one great love Aginaya (also played by Bela).

After debuting this week with a promising 12.8 percent people rating against its rival program’s 11 percent based on overnight ratings data across Mega Manila, Machete is on its way to becoming another strong contender in the primetime race.

Completing the cast are Ryan Eigenmann, Gina Alajar, Nonie Buencamino, Rio Locsin, John Arcilla, Zoren Legaspi and others.
