MANILA, Philippines - TV5’s Midnight DJ presents another horrifying edition called Pan de Monyo this Saturday evening.
The MDJ team, composed of Samboy (Oyo Sotto), Bodjie (Joaqui Tupas), Chief Arthur (John Medina) and QT (Meg Imperial) is called to investigate the disappearances of residents in the neighborhood where the bakery of Amy (Ruby Rodriguez) is located.
Amy is selling her bakery for three reasons. First, she cannot compete with the superior bread of other modern shops. Second, she must pay for the medication of her sick son Charlie (Jacob Rica). And third, she has to pay her debt to Indian national Bumbay (Sam YG).
On her last night at the bakery, Amy and sister Miranda (Eda Nolan) are preparing pan de sal when a thief enters their house. They accidentally kill him and throws the corpse into the burning oven. The bread from the oven is the best Amy has ever made but she finds out later on that in order to bake delicious bread the oven must be fed regularly with people.
Our Pinoy heroes soon discover from a resident (Ramon Christopher) the link between the disappearances and the sinister history of Amy’s stone oven. As Samboy and friends plan to destroy the killer oven, Amy must do her utmost to stop them lest she suffers losses anew.
Midnight DJ airs after Talentadong Pinoy. It is directed by Lore Reyes and line produced by Angie Samson-Valvieja for Big Top Productions.
