MANILA, Philippines - Janet Jackson (photo) is unabashed about her love for the Philippines. When fans submitted their suggestions to www.janetjackson.com to have Manila included in her largest ever world tour Number Ones – she immediately agreed to and chose Manila to be one of the winning cities. More than that, the pop icon moved up her tour dates and made Manila the first stop of the entire tour.
The Manila show will take place on Friday, Feb. 4 at the PICC Plenary Hall. This tour will differ from her previous concert schedules in that she will perform exclusively from her greatest hits album Number Ones. There will also be a focus on venues that will allow Janet to be up close and personal in a much more intimate setting. In each selected city, Janet will offer something different to her performance so no show will be the same.
It’s been more than a decade since Michael Jackson’s younger sister, and the voice behind the #1 hits What Have You Done For Me Lately, Nasty, When I Think of You, Control, Let’s Wait Awhile, The Pleasure Principle, Miss You Much, Rhythm Nation, Escapade, Alright, Come Back to Me, Black Cat, Love Will Never Do, The Best Things in Life Are Free, That’s the Way Love Goes, If, Again, Because of Love, Any Time Any Place, Scream (with Michael Jackson), Runaway, Got ‘Til Its Gone, Together Again, I Get Lonely, Go Deep, What’s It Gonna Be, Doesn’t Really Matter, All For You, Someone to Call My Lover, All Nite, Call on Me, Feedback and Make Me, has performed in Manila.
Janet has expressed her excitement for the upcoming performance in Manila by stating, “I have always loved the Philippines. As a child I’ve felt a connection and passion, for the diversity and uniqueness, of the culture, the passion and the people. I want to bring my moves, my music, and my love to Manila on Feb. 4.”
