Centro creates magic for Argentina Deli TVC
MANILA, Philippines - TV time just got more exciting for kids as two cute animated characters hit Philippine TV in the new Argentina Deli Burger commercials. Meet the adorable Chickiedel and Delimoo whose colorful adventures provide the answer to children’s demand for a new, delicious and satisfying snack. Lending a hand to the creative team of Publicist Manila, Argentina Deli Burger’s advertising agency, is Disney-owned animation studio, Centro Digital Pictures. A premiere Hong Kong-based special visual effects company acclaimed for its work on Kung Fu Hustle, The Eye and Kill Bill Volumes 1 and 2, Centro is also noted for its collaboration with Disney for the computer-generated image (CGI) movie The Secret of the Magic Gourd. Centro Digital Pictures and Publicis Manila shared their inspiration behind the imaginative commercial.
“Animation is an effective tool in communicating with children,” said director Stephen Ngo, “These kinds of visuals will allow the kids to go beyond the borders of their imagination.” As Argentina Deli Burger gave Centro Digital and Publicis Manila a lot of creative freedom, it was also the Filipino audience’s openness to non-traditional commercial methods that made the agencies’ work a lot easier. This led both teams to create the look of the characters as smoothly as they envisioned: Very amusing and Tim Burton-like. “We mixed different kinds of art styles for the commercial. We exaggerated the body parts of the characters, like oversized heads or big eyes, and we believe it will make the characters recognizable and memorable for children,” Ngo shared.
The commercial conveys the good news from Argentina Deli Burger: Chicken and corned beef can now be enjoyed in burger buns with the new Argentina Deli Burger patties. Illustrating how the tasty burgers are already fully cooked and only require heating, the commercials help moms discover that Argentina Deli Burger is perfect for kids who are active and imaginative.
