Valencia lectures on journalism

MANILA, Philippines - Due to insistent requests of teachers, students of journalism and mass communication, professionals and some media practitioners, the 23rd Teodoro F. Valencia Lectures on Journalism and Mass Communication will start on Jan. 28 at the T.F. Valencia Media Study Center, Rizal Park.

The lecture series will be held every Friday from Jan. 28 to March 18, 2:30. to 4 p.m. It will be held under the auspices of the Teodoro F. Valencia Foundation, Inc. and sponsored by Philippine Trust Co., Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co., Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Metrobank Foundation, Rizal Commercial Banking Corp., Ayala Foundation, Land Bank of the Philippines, GMA 7 Network, Inc., Banco de Oro, Mayor Alfredo Lim and San Miguel Corp.

Among the lecturers are professor and author Ceciliano-Jose Cruz on Copyreading Blues, Ptr. Askel dela Cruz, editor-in-chief of The Word Magazine on Journalism as a Career-Its Challenges and Responsibilities, Manny Goloyugo, photo journalist on Photos Worth More Than a Thousand Words, Agriculture Magazine editor-in-chief, Zac Sarian on Agriculture The Backbone of The Economy, Ricky F. Lo, entertainment editor of The Philippine STAR on Analyzing Entertainment Chismis and Blind Items, Writing About Crisis and National Problem by Ramon Francisco, associate editor of the Manila Bulletin and sports analyst, broadcaster and columnist of The Philippine STAR Quinito Henson on A World of Action In Muscles.
