MANILA, Philippines – Star Magic Kids recently spearheaded a charity event and show at the Skydome of SM North EDSA.
Led by the cast of the Metro Manila Film Festival Third Best Picture RPG: Metanoia Zaijian Jaranilla, Basty Alcances, Aaron Junatas, Jairus Aquino and Mika dela Cruz, the Star Magic Kids sang, danced, played parlor games and gave away gifts and prizes to children from different charitable institutions.
Almost 300 beneficiaries of the SM Foundation and the Children of Joy Foundation were at the event led by Star Magic’s Cris Navarro and Robert Ty of Moose Gear assisted by Caryle Aguilar of SM Marketing.
The afternoon festivities were hosted by Roden Araneta and Jerry Telan of Star Magic.
Major sponsors were Star Magic, Moose Gear and SM. Minor sponsors were Chowking, Marina and Recipe for food. AMSPEC also provided T-Pencil and various school supplies as giveaways for kids.
Star Magic Kids performed dance numbers and walked the ramp in a mini-fashion show of Moose Gear apparel.
Joining them were older counterparts from the Star Magic teens and pre-teens, including the cast of the top-rating Mara Clara Kathryn Bernardo, Albie Casino, John Manalo and Julia Montes.
One of the grand finalists of Pilipinas Got Talent, Magician Alakim, performed magic tricks (including his signature butterfly act) to the delight of the young audience. Alakim pulled two of them onstage to take part in one of the tricks.
World Championship of the Performing Arts (WCOPA) champ Rhap Salazar’s song number spoke of caring for the environment in line with SM’s Green Bag campaign to discourage the use of plastic.
Kids from Children of Joy Foundation performed a medley of Christmas carols in song and dance as a way of thanking Star Magic Kids and SM.
