Familiar with Sky Ferreira? Alex Pettyfer? Charice? We have a feeling by 2010, that’ll be a silly question.
With that introduction, the US magazine Entertainment Weekly proceeded to make what it called the “11 to Watch in 2011,” with our very own Charice ranked No. 9.
This is what EW wrote about Charice: YouTube, Ellen and Oprah may have helped bring us this pint-size star with the powerhouse pipes, but the 18-year-old (last name: Pempengco) made her own splash on Glee’s season 2 premiere playing Sunshine Corazon. She’ll be back this spring to wow us.
Here’s the honor roll:
1. Rooney Mara
2. Adam Scott
3. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
4. James Newman
5. Tom Hardy
6. Daniel Sunjata
7. Wiz Khalifa
8. Michael Fassbender
9. CHARICE
10, Alex Pettyfer
11. Sky Ferreira
Charice is expected to fly in from the US today to perform in two shows tomorrow, Jan. 8, and Sunday, Jan. 9, at Enchanted Kingdom; and will leave also on Sunday night.
Christian raises $37,000 at Indonesia fund-raising
Christian Bautista raised $37,000 at a fund-raising affair for the building of St. Ignatius Church in Manado, Indonesia.
“Tickets were sold out at $30 each,” reported Carlo Orosa. “”For his last song, a bid was made to raise more money by letting Christian sing The Way You Look At Me, his biggest hit in Indonesia. Several girls in the audience pledged from $500 to $1,000.”
For his effort, Christian was featured on the front page of The Manado Post.
Noted Carlo, “Manado has the most number of Catholics and Christians, totaling 65 percent. Indonesia has a total population of 350 million, predominantly Muslim.”
Powertrim’s new Sexy endorsers
Powertrim, the slimming capsule distributed by Beaulife Enterprises, Incorporated, has revealed the identities of its new, sexy endorsers — 2000 Mutya ng Pilipinas Jo Canonizado (who owns and manages her own beauty saloon with outlets all over Metro Manila) and Bobby Simpson. As you can see in the photos on this page, they are fit and fabulous.
“Aside from exercising,” said Jo, “one way of eliminating fats is by taking lots of liquid and watching what you eat. I’m the sporty type and that helps. I play badminton and I walk around our village. Of course, I take Powertrim regularly.”
A professional athlete, Bobby said, “Since I started taking Powertrim, I haven’t felt discomfort in my tummy. It helps expel toxins from my body.”
Raquel Baluyot, managing director of Beaulife Enterprise, claimed that sales of Powertrim have shot up since the company hired Jo and Bobby as endorsers.
(Powertrim is available at all Mercury Drug outlets. For inquiries about the product, call [02]425-6523 or 0922-8834599.)
