Star-studded Gabi ng Parangal
MANILA, Philippines – The biggest and brightest stars gather on Dec. 26 at the 36th Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal at the Meralco Theater in Pasig City. Stars of the eight entries to the MMFF and other celebrity guests are attending the awards night, hosted by Ruffa, Richard and Raymond Gutierrez.
Two production numbers will be mounted. Marian Rivera leads the opening number with Mark Herras, Mart Escudero, Gwen Zamora, Buboy Villar and Jillian Ward.
Pops Fernandez, Kuh Ledesma, Christian Bautista and Arnel Pineda join voices for the finale.
A US-based dance diva will give a special number. She’s dynamite onstage flying to Manila for the MMFF awards night.
There’s a special segment participated in by Vilma Santos, Sharon Cuneta, Lorna Tolentino, Maricel Soriano, Aga Muhlach, Richard Gomez, Boyet de Leon, Cesar Montano, Piolo Pascual and Philip Salvador.
The awards night is aired on GMA and presented by Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Francis Tolentino, the 17 mayors of Metro Manila, the MMFF executive committee. co-presented by PCSO, McDonald’s, Erase Placenta, Happy Toothpaste, Naproxen Marketing and directed by Al Quinn.
The event starts a red carpet parade at 6 p.m., followed by the show at 7:30 p.m.
Eight entries are vying for awards: Rosario (Jennylyn Mercado); Father Jejemon (Dolphy); Dalaw (Kris Aquino); Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote (Vic Sotto, Bong Revilla); Super Inday and the Golden Bibe (Marian Rivera, John Lapus); RPG: Metanoia (Zaijian Jaranilla); Shake, Rattle & Roll 12 (Shaina Magdayao, Carla Abellana, Andi Eigenmann); and Tanging Ina (Ai-Ai dela Alas).
