MANILA, Philippines – Confirmed: Pilipinas Win Na Win (PWNW), which replaced Wowowee, Willie Revillame’s controversial defunct show, is good only until Dec. 31. It’s goodbye to Hitmakers Rico J. Puno, Nonoy Zuñiga, Rey Valera and Marco Sison (photo) who, with K Brosas, took over from Willie as regular hosts only last October. With them were leftover Wowowee co-hosts Pokwang (photo) and Valerie Concepcion.
Here’s the official statement sent to The STAR by Bong R. Osorio, head of the ABS-CBN Corporate Communication:
Pilipinas Win Na Win (PWNW) will have its last episode on Dec. 31, 2010. The ABS-CBN management thanks the Hitmakers, Valerie Concepcion, K Brosas and Pokwang, the PWNW production group and, most important, its viewers for their support to the program.
In the meantime, Showtime will occupy the slot left by PWNW. With its extended time, Showtime brings more great fun and hope to Filipinos worldwide.
Asked what the network will do with the displaced hosts, Osorio said, “I’m sure there will be other shows for them.”
