Celebrity Christmas alphabet
Remember the song Christmas Alphabet popularized by Cliff Richard? It was so famous that young people whenever asked to define Christmas, they would answer, in a sing-song manner, Cliff’s, Christmas Alphabet.
C is for the candy trimmed around the Christmas tree,
H is for the happiness with all the family,
R is for the reindeer prancing by the window pane,
I is for the icing on the cake as sweet as sugar cane,
S is for the stocking hanging on the chimney wall,
T is for the toys beneath the tree so tall,
M is for the mistletoe where everyone is kissed,
A is for the angels who make up the Christmas list,
S is for the Santa who makes every kid his pet,
Be good and he’ll bring you everything in your Christmas alphabet!
Inspired by the iconic Cliff Richard’s Christmas Alphabet, I have come up with my own celebrity definition of Christmas.
C is for Cristine Reyes. Christine is one of the most controversial figures in 2010. She is hot copy whatever she does and wherever she goes. Cristine is a rara avis - vocal, spontaneous, often throwing caution to the wind. With her, what you see, is what you get. It’s either you’re black or you’re white. 2010 is a good year for Cristine. She has carved her own niche, established herself a name and found her own home on television.
H is for Hermosa who is also Kristine but hers is with a K. Kristine’s beauty is stunningly classic. Her beauty belongs to Hollywood and the world. And speaking of names that start with K- of course the first one that comes to mind is Kris Aquino, the one and only Queen of All Media. To me, she will always be the funny, brilliant, compassionate governor-to-be of Tarlac. Inarguably, show business is not the same when Kris decides to be quiet! Thank God these are episodic moments which don’t last. She always comes back with a surprise!
R is for Rayver Cruz. His patience is paying off. He used to wait in the wings often looked out by other actors his age. Rayver is a looker. If he sharpens his acting chops and gets the breaks, he might just sneak into big league territory.
I is for Iya Villania. She’s pretty and smart. She and Drew Arellano make a wonderful mix. MYX sizzles with Iya.
S is for Sharon Cuneta, the royal Mega Star. She still reigns supreme with a body of work in film, TV and music that has inspired generations of men and women who will always believe in love and fairytales. S is also Sarah Geronimo. Sarah will finally find the right boy in God’s good time. One guy allegedly promised to wait for her, another denied her, but Sarah we know, will have her own Prince Charming and she will be the Princess Sarah that she’s always been.
T is for Toni Gonzaga. Funny girl this Toni. From being a fledgling host in PBB, Toni has blossomed into a fine young host. She is also a certified box-office star. Her bubbly personality is so infectious and that translates into every role that she makes whether in film or TV.
M is for Mariel Rodriguez – She is in love and nobody argues against love. But Mariel works hard. She doesn’t complain. She’s not a whiner. She has a soft spot in my heart. She’s like the little sister I never had.
A is for Angel Locsin – Angel is a feisty young woman. She will fight for her rights. She will speak her mind. She will do what she thinks is right. I love her sense of family. She is “cowboy” even with the celebrity trimmings.
S is for Shaina Magdayao. Controversies continue to follow her. Shaina has kept her poise and class. The truth prevailed. Besides, she owns the heart of the most brilliant actor of his generation who happens to be a beautiful human being.
