Mark shares blessings
MANILA, Philippines – Mark Herras shows his real good self in various ways this Christmas, joining GMA 7’s Puso Ng Pasko: Artista Challenge and choosing to celebrate his birthday at a special venue and with love-yearning kids.
The star of recent hit series Langit Sa Piling Mo and Diva sees the Yuletide season as a perfect time to give back after what has been another year of great blessings.
“Ayokong sayangin ang opportunity na binibigay sa akin. Kaya talagang nagseseryoso ako,” expressed the actor-dancer.
Mark is participating in what is dubbed as a Krismaserye, replacing the just-concluded Survivor Celebrity edition. He, along with Ynna Asistio, will endure challenges, ranging from the heart-warming to the death-defying for the prime purpose of winning prizes for the family serving as his beneficiary. Families chosen as prize-recipients are selected from a pool of deserving ones who have helped their community.
Mark will celebrate his birthday with the public not just once, but twice. Come Dec. 30, kids under the shelter of Our Father Foundation, an NGO catering for the needs of the young, get to see him up close and join him at the Enchanted Kingdom in Laguna to once again share the occasion.
It can be recalled that this year, Mark dabbled in hosting which he was able to pull off well. Thanks to Danz Showdown which auditioned new Sexbomb dancers. While it was manager Joy Cancio and Rochelle Pangilinan who did the judging, Mark’s hosting was as crucial as it turned out, providing the show that extra glitter it needed.
“Malaking tulong na tungkol sa sayaw ang pinag-uusapan namin sa show. Maganda kasi na alam mo ang kinukwento mo,” he noted.
A few years ago, Mark’s dance albums earned Double Platinum Record status. His partnership with the original Female Ultimate Survivor Jennylyn Mercado was launched via a film titled Say That You Love Me. Four years after that they were still a hot item, appearing together in Sine Novela: Paano Ba Ang Mangarap which eventually earned good ratings.
Just months back he flew high with Heart Evangelista in the airline-set love story Langit Sa Piling Mo where he played to critical attention executive Rigo Hilario III. Director Gil Tejada Jr., when interviewed, hailed him for “delivering more intensity” in his performance, sending the message that acting-wise he has “matured enough.”
