UE sets Yuletide celebration

MANILA, Philippines - Internationally acclaimed University of the East Chorale performs in UE Christmas concerts today at the UE Manila Theater, 3 p.m. and on Dec. 15 at the UE Caloocan Open Field, 4 p.m. for this year’s Yuletide celebration of the UE community with its theme Dreaming of a Red and White Christmas.

UE’s activities for the Christian tradition observance include Pamaskong Handog, gift-giving events on Dec. 14 and 15, for the following beneficiaries: UE Kids, the children of UE Manila and Caloocan personnel and select families in the UE adopted Brgys. 401 and 402 in Sampaloc, Manila, and Brgys. 1, 3, 73 and 80 in Caloocan City.

The Misa de Gallo on TV 2010 with presiding priests Fr. Bel San Luis, SVD, and UE Chaplain Fr. Bernard Martin, will take place on Dec. 15 at 12:15 p.m., at the University Chapel, Saint Francis of Assisi, UE Manila. The Misa de Gallo serves as anticipated Simbang Gabi, to be aired over Studio 23 at 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 16.

The UE Yuletide celebration, which kicked off on Nov. 24 in UE Manila campus with Thanksgiving Mass, Lantern Parade, and the lighting of the Giant Christmas Tree, will culminate on Dec. 17, with Christmas Extravaganza, a UE Manila-Caloocan-combined program, afternoon fun-filled affair with exciting raffle prizes, dance competition, announcement of winners in the Lantern competition, among others.
