Tangoexposed in Manila

MANILA, Philippines - Manila takes center stage until tomorrow, Nov. 7 as tangueros and tangueras from around Asia gather for the much-awaited Argentine Tango event, Tangoexposed. Expected to attend are Tango experts and aficionados from Singapore, Bali, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Manila and Davao for a four-day celebration of Tango through workshops, performances, private coaching, an art exhibition and a mini-tango championship.

Tangoexposed will be held at the Eugenio Lopez Center on Sumulong Highway in Antipolo City.

Every year, Tangoexposed features top names in the world of Argentine Tango. Those who have graced the prestigious event are distinguished Tango experts Roberto Herrera and Tamara Bisceglia (Singapore 2006); Roberto Reis and Margarita Klurfan (Jakarta 2008); Alejandra Mantinan and Gregorio Garrido (Bangkok 2008); and Cecilia Gonzalez and Somer Surgit (Bali 2009).

The Gala Performance today will feature two of the world’s best tango dancers, Lorena Ermocida and Fabian Peralta. Also invited are Pablo Tegli and Gisel Avanzi.
