Veterans, upstarts at NU Rock Awards

MANILA, Philippines - Mainstays and upstarts will be featured at the country’s biggest, boldest awards night as NU 107 commemorates 17 years of recognizing the best in the OPM circuit.

Every year, the best local music releases and artists are selected to indicate the current creative state of the nation and show the direction music will take.

Past NU 107 Rock Awards winners have become household names, easily making the transition from acquired “alternative” tastes to widely accepted, and highly-regarded artists. Bamboo, Sandwich, Urbandub and many more were only familiar to a discerning few before NU 107 awarded their immeasurable impact on the local music scene and propelled them into collective consciousness.

This year, they will be joined by newer, rising acts that have their sights set on the coveted status of NU 107 Rock Awards winner.
