MANILA, Philippines - International alternative rock group Gin Blossoms defined ’90s music with their anthemic hits ‘Til I Hear it From You, Hey Jealousy, As Long as It Matters, Found Out About You, Follow You Down, among others.
This November, the best rock group of that decade will rock its way to the hearts of Filipinos by headlining a two-city concert tour on Nov. 18 at Araneta Coliseum and on Nov. 20 at Waterfront Cebu. The concert is mounted by Blue Dream Entertainment.
In the group’s Facebook page, Gin Blossoms excitedly shouted out, “We’re going to be performing in Pac-Man’s home country very soon. Very excited. It’ll be our FIRST time over there.”
With a line-up of memorable hits, it is one show anyone born in the ’90s or any alternative music aficionado should not miss.
Joining Gin Blossoms in the concert are Australian rock band Farenheit 43, Cookie Chua, Gloc 9, De Lara and 6Cyclemind.
Gin Blossoms spawned monstrous hits when they released their debut album Dusted and New Morning Experience, which contained the hits Hey Jealousy, Found Out About You, Mrs. Rita, Allison Road and Until I Fall Away.
Amidst controversies of disbanding after the release of the first album, the group came up with a very strong sophomore recording, Congratulations I’m Sorry, which included the hits Follow You Down, Til I Hear it From You, As Long as it Matters and Day Job.
It was also during this time that the band solidified their group with its final lineup: lead vocals Robin Wilson, guitars/vocals Jesse Valenzuela, guitars Scott Johnson, bass Bill Leen, touring and studio drummer John Richardson.
After a lengthy hiatus, the band reunited for an 80 date U.S. tour and released the critically acclaimed Major Lodge Victory.
