Gloc-9 bags 5 Awit awards

MANILA, Philippines - The 23rd Awit Awards turned out to be Gloc-9’s night as the rapper won five awards including the coveted Song of The Year for Upuan.

The single which features Jeazell Grutas of the band Zelle was also announced as Best Collaboration, Best Rap and Best Engineered Recording (for producers Jonathan Ong and Robert Javier). Another track from his album Matrikula under Sony Music Martilyo featuring Letter Day Story was declared as Best Rock/Alternative.

Also honored among Sony Music artists were Pinoy Idol Gretchen Espina whose single Kasalanan Nga Ba? bagged the Best Performance by a New Female Recording Artist award while Moymoypalaboy was the recipient of Best Novelty Award.

The Awit Awards is an award-giving body, spearheaded by PARI (The Philippine Association of the Record Industry Inc.) that gives recognition to Filipino performing artists and people behind the making of Filipino recorded music.
