Mo and Joem fight ghosts in White House
MANILA, Philippines - Dealing with ghosts is something Mo Twister and Joem Bascon have not probably done in real life. But in Regal’s forthcoming horror thriller, White House, they battle ghosts and spirits, although only on the big screen.
Filmed in the actual haunted mansion along Leonard Wood Road in Baguio City, White House focuses on six contestants who join a Pinoy horror-reality show. A million pesos are at stake to survive five uncanny days of dealing with the strange and the mysterious inside the creepy White House in Baguio City. However, as the every night draws to a close and each one is found dead, the contestants realize their lives are also on the line.
Mo plays a cocky radio DJ who doesn’t believe in ghosts, but enters the competition for the money. Joem is the dumb male beauty pageant veteran who joins the reality show for fame.
Mo, known as a DJ and TV host, marks his big screen debut and immediately welcomed the challenge of doing a horror-thriller for his first film .
Joem, has been proving his acting mettle in TV dramas, but was excited when he was offered the role in White House.
Completing the roster of contestants are Lovi Poe as a prostitute, Megan Young as the broken-hearted wanna-be writer, Jairus Aquino and Sarah Lahbati as siblings from the province who escape their abusive father.
Gabby Concepcion leads the stellar cast as the psychic who communicates with ghosts. Maricar Reyes is the scheming reality TV show producer, with Janus del Prado as her production assistant. Iza Calzado plays the violent black lady out to seek vengeance for her loved ones’ death.
Topel Lee, who megged suspense thrillers like Ouija, Sundo and the Yaya and Madre episodes of Shake, Rattle and Roll, directs. Aloy Adlawan led a team of young writers who stayed in the White House in Baguio to complete the screenplay.
White House starts its regular theater run Oct. 20. Premiere night is on Oct. 19 at SM Megamall.
