The stage veteran is a showbiz newbie

MANILA, Philippines - Tippy Dos Santos, 15, is a relative newcomer in the showbiz scene, having been cast as Carol, younger sister to Sam Milby’s Vince in the newest ABS-CBN series idol, topbilled by Sarah Geronimo.

“I am so overwhelmed working on the set with such great actors as Sam Milby and Zsa Zsa Padilla, who plays my mom in the soap. They are so helpful, supportive and I must admit... star struck pa po ako,” relates Tippy, niece of the late Johnny Delgado.

But even though this is her first TV soap, Tippy is a veteran musical theater actress on the legitimate stage and in other live performances. When she was much younger, Tippy performed for a lot of corporate events and starred in Rep’s kids musicals Fame as Serena. For the Ateneo Children’s Theater, she was Gertrude in Seussical and Belle in Beauty and the Beast. For Trumpets Playshop, she played the lead Sandy in Grease.

Tippy’s vocal talent spawned numerous awards in the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) of 2008, where she was a grand finalist, winning three gold medals, a silver and bronze in various categories.

With her beauty, she won the National Capital Region’s title in the Barbie Singing Contest of 2005.

A responsible teenager, Tippy is consistently voted class president at Reedley’s International School in Libis, where she is also an honor student.

Tippy is also a supporter and advocate of World Vision and Department of Education, having attended and performed many events and charities for them. Tippy is also part of Stages Talents Group along with well-known artists like Christian Bautista, Karylle and Sam Concepcion.
