How Nikki changed Billy
Billy Crawford and Nikki Gil make a lovely pair. Watch them in their toothpaste commercial and see what love is all about. They have been together for two years now. The couple met when they hosted Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2. Since then, their relationship continued to blossom along with their flourishing showbiz careers. Time flies really fast. It seems like only yesterday when the young Crawford with his “Beatles hairdo” was singing Beat It and dancing the moonwalk. Sooner than later we maybe talking about the couple’s altar date.
Who wouldn’t be in love with your boyfriend if he talks proudly about you in public? Billy was once asked on how to make a relationship work. According to abs-cbn.com, Billy confidently disclosed, “To all the guys, look for a Nikki Gil. She is very understanding, very amazing. I think every day you just fall more deeply in love with the person.”
Billy admitted he was once a playboy but he changed after they became a couple. I think that’s how it is when you love someone. You can change for the one you love. Billy’s past was never an issue between them. “She didn’t enter into a relationship and asked me to stop being a playboy. I stopped on my own. She is selfless. I just learned to fall in love with her and be with her.”
What if girls flirt and hang around him? “Just resist it, just put it aside.”
I still remember Billy when he guested in The Buzz last year and sang How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You) for Nikki during the interview. Indeed, how sweet it is to live in this world and be loved by someone you love. Just like Billy and Nikki.
Nikki and Billy are two beautiful people in love with each other in a world where everyone has to be beautiful. They stand out because their beauty comes from within.
Billy made waves in the European music scene a few years back. His first single from his album Ride called Trackin’ was a huge success in France. It put him at the top of the French charts. The song also made it at No. 1 in the Netherlands, No. 2 in Belgium, No. 3 in Switzerland and No. 20 in Germany. It had great success in Germany and became No. 1 on the radio and club chart. He also released other chart-topping hits like Bright Lights and Steamy Nights. He is a regular fixture on TV with his shows A.S.A.P. XV and Panahon Ko ‘To!: Ang Game Show ng Buhay Ko.
Nikki, for her part, is a MYX VJ. In spite of her showbiz career, Nikki graduated from Ateneo de Manila University where she majored in English Literature. Nikki first caught public attention as a simple lass singing on the street while giving away soft drink bottles to passers-by in a Coke commercial. She was seen onstage as Elle Woods in Atlantis Productions’ Legally Blonde: The Musical.
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
Theater Down South presents Stephen Sondheim’s A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, a hilarious musical farce that first appeared on Broadway in the late `60s and later made into a film. It was also revived on Broadway in the ‘90s. The production coincides with composer Sondheim’s 80th birthday, celebrated worldwide with various productions of his works.
Two young actors make their Theater Down South debut in the show — Jacob Kliatchko Gayanelo and Carla Gonzalez who play lovers Hero and Philia. Carla and Jacob live in the South Metro area, as are most of the company’s other members. “It’s part of our company’s mandate to provide opportunities for actors in the South and to promote the growth of theater in this area,” says director Michael Williams.
A Funny thing Happened on the Way to the Forum will be showing at the Insular Life Theater tomorrow, Oct. 2, Oct. 3, 8, 9, 24, 30. All shows are at 8 p.m., except for the Sunday shows at 3 p.m.
