Hotbabe now a kontrabida

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Jen Rosendhal is on for some image reinvention as she has been preparing for bad girl roles which GMA Artist Center (GMAAC), the management office behind her career since 2007, has earmarked for her.

By November, the former Viva Hotbabe will be seen in a new GMA 7 soap opera as a character that would make viewers hate her guts. “I’m set to do contravida roles and I believe that will be both exciting and challenging. Carry ko naman siguro maging kontrabida. I look up to some of our character actresses especially Miss Cherie Gil.” Jen believes contravida roles are as rich, meaty and significant as the lead.

Also in November, FHM’s collectors’ issue featuring her and other celebrities will be out in major magazine stands. Jen just finished the photo shoot for the said issue and describes it as “sexy, but with class.” It’s seldom that being too hot and classy come together in one person. This asset belongs to the 5’8” Fil-German bombshell who’s disciplined enough to regularly workout to stay in shape.

“I’m trying to be really professional by being on time and keeping in shape. I balance my food intake and I’m glad that people who care for me don’t get tired of reminding me to retain my figure. I don’t forget that I am what I am today because of my association with the Hotbabes and the sexy image the public has known me for.”

Apart from acting which she honed through GMAAC, particularly under director Joel Lamangan, Jen has set her sights on a pop album. Her passion for singing and hosting is seen in corporate shows she holds every now and then.

Given the chance, Jen likes to do action roles in the mold of Angelina Jolie’s Lara Croft or Evelyn Salt characters. She has the looks, the height and stance to fit in such a role.

Acting won’t be a problem. “I want to act for as long as I can,” she noted.

She sees her most recent acting assignment, as a plane crash survivor in the just-concluded Langit Sa Piling Mo is proof of her ability to stay in this business.
