2010 Bakood Festival set

MANILA, Philippines - Uniting the whole municipality in the bid for cityhood, Bacoor Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla, Bacoor Mayor Strike Revilla and the local government of Bacoor formally announced the schedule of activities for this year’s Bacood Festival.

In a joint press conference with showbiz media, the two bared the highlights of the 2010 Bakood Festival, the half-month long celebration of the 339th founding anniversary of Bacoor. Among the events are the municipal-wide and coastal cleanup, health and wellness seminar, bingo bonanza, bowling tournament, Leaders’ Day, gift-giving, mass wedding and baptism, OSCA Night (Daddy Groovy and Hot Momma),free legal assistance, environmental exhibit, trade fair, SMB’s Talentadong Bacooreño and the Paligsahan ng PWD (Persons with Disabilities).

With the Bagong Bacoor Tungo sa Pagiging Lungsod, the festival is ongoing until Sept. 29 and aims to boost local tourism, promote the town’s trade and industry and further strengthen camaraderie among Bacooreños.

Other highlights of the 2010 Bakood Festival include the Strike Kids Day, Strike Bikers Day, Search for Miss Gay Bacoor and the most anticipated Mutya ng Bacoor Coronation Night.
