Pilipinas Got Talent concert goes on tour

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - What do Jovit Baldivino (third from right), Ezra Band (the four guys from left), Markki Stroem (second from right) and Sherwin Baguion (rightmost) have in common?

The huge success of ABS-CBN’s Pilipinas Got Talent paved the way for Pinoy You Got It, the 20-city nationwide concert tour featuring these four talented artists who were also awarded by Star Records and Sony Music CD album deals featuring Jovit in an album titled Faithfully and another CD compilation titled Pinoy You Got It featuring Ezra Band, Markki and Sherwin.

The journey of Jovit, a 16-year-old boy from Batangas who was born to a poor parents, started when he joined the search of Pilipias Got Talent to help his family. He also needed to sell fresh Chinese siomai at the market after his classes to augment family income as his father was stricken with TB and his mother was jobless. Jovit’s God-given talent put the whole nation at awe when he sang the song popularized by Journey Faithfully. The rest is history. The young boy with a golden voice became a household name instantly. His performance of Faithfully and semi-finals rendition of Carrie have also turned him into one of the most-watched contestants on YouTube.

Equally interesting is the phenomenal rise of Ezra Band, called by fans as the coolest band in town, known for its own style of acoustic music. The main vocal, Kaye Cal, is a girl but with the voice of a boy, described by many as handsomely lovely.

Another shining standout is the performance of Sherwin, a young singer   from Cagayan de Oro who uniquely has an interesting combination of having the voice of Gary Valenciano but sings like Martin Nievera. And not to be outdone is Markki, the 21-year-old, 5’11”, good-looking Fil-Norwegian crooner who has the singing voice to make girls swoon.

The concert tour also features special guests Juris and the Magic of Alakim, Pinoys never fail to be amazed by magic as Pilipinas Got Talent grand finalist Allan “Alakim” de Paz dominated the semi-finals live results night with his amazing magic tricks that involved his signature butterflies and amazing teleportation.
