MANILA, Philippines - DZMM continues with its winning ways after ruling the latest radio and cable TV ratings to be the No. 1 AM radio station and cable news channel in the country.
DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 topped all AM radio stations in the June 2010 Nielsen Mega Manila RAM with an audience share of 29 percent, seven points higher than DZBB (22 percent) and nine points ahead DZRH (20 percent).
Its TV counterpart, DZMM TeleRadyo also ruled the competition as the top cable news channel in the July 2010 Kantar Media-TNS survey for all cabled households surpassing CNN, BBC, Fox News and Channel News Asia.
DZMM hopes to continue its winning streak as a top contender for the People’s Choice Award for Best AM Station in the coming KBP Golden Dove Awards. To vote for DZMM, just text GDOV <space> MLA <space> AM2 and send to 2948.
“Being the first in news, the first in public service and also the first in the hearts of radio listeners and cable TV viewers motivates us more to improve our service to Filipinos worldwide,” said ABS-CBN Manila Radio Division head Peter Musngi.
He credits DZMM’s success in the ratings to its exclusive and extensive coverage of the recent news events, its public service efforts, and its hit combination of anchors led by the tandem of Pinky Webb and Ted Failon of the primetime news and commentary program Tambalang Failon at Webb.
Webb joins Failon in the crucial task of dissecting and explaining the biggest news and issues in the nation every morning.
Failon, meanwhile, is very confident that he and Webb can further strengthen the program to address the evolving needs of their listeners and viewers.
Making another hit tandem in DZMM are Lynda Jumilla and Alvin Elchico of the recently-launched nightly program S.R.O. (Suhestiyon, Reaksyon, Opinyon).
Aside from the chance to voice out their thoughts on current issues, fans of the show also tune in to catch interesting bits of information and trivia on the local politics scene from the two veteran reporters.
