MANILA, Philippines - Marc Ecko has named Lindsay Lohan as the new “digital” muse for its contemporary clothing line Cut & Sew.
Cast to headline the brand’s latest online advertising campaign www.marceckomuse.com, Lohan was reportedly chosen for ability to fascinate and pique the interest of the public.
“I cast Lindsay because people are fascinated with her. They can either feel good or bad things, but they are feeling some type of emotion. She’s a pop culture icon,” said Ecko in an interview with People magazine’s Andrea DeSimone.
Fans of Lohan can see the “digital muse” in Marc Ecko’s fall 2010 collection by logging on to the campaign’s dedicated site. Compared to other traditional advertising efforts, Lohan will perform online video skits.
Through the use of advanced new media technology known as “augmented reality” which uses digital viewing tools called glyphs, the star interacts with online viewers.
Lohan will also be seen in print ads taken by photographer Zach Gold this month.
