Lovi teams up with Mark Anthony

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - In spite of the controversies surrounding her, Lovi Poe (photo) is on a new high these days. The singer-actress just finished work on two editions of Love Bug recently, one of which will be aired on Aug. 29, on GMA 7. Say I Do which pairs Lovi for the first time with Mark Anthony Fernandez is a comedy-romance about a new bride and her groom, and her relationship with her in laws (played by Joey Marquez and Carmi Martin), who are at odds with each other. It is reported that Mark Anthony requested Lovi to be his partner in this month-long special.

“I’m very flattered, excited and nervous,” says Lovi. “It’s an honor to be paired with Mark Anthony, most especially since his last leading lady was Regine Velasquez,” she adds. Meanwhile, her other Love Bug special, shot entirely in Palawan, with new leading man Rocco Nacino, is now in the post-production stages and will be shown shortly thereafter.

After winning the 2010 Cinemalaya Best Actress recently for her work in Mayohan, Lovi will soon be seen in Topel Lee’s horror film, White House with Iza Calzado and Gabby Concepcion. Lovi has also started work on her third album, which will be released at the end of the year. Lovi is busy with Party Pilipinas every Sunday, where she gets to perform a wide variety of production numbers. Lovi signed an endorsement deal with Bench. She will also sign up with another endorsement soon. Lovi is also busy preparing with outreach programs for Child Hope Asia, a foundation and international movement on behalf of Street Children.
