MANILA, Philippines - This month, the intensity of entertainment turns up a notch as Spirit of ’67 joins Dusit Thani Manila’s Fiesta San Miguel for show-stopping performances. Scheduled on Aug. 19 and 26, shows start at 8:30 p.m., with an entrance fee of P250 net per person.
Expect only the best from Spirit of ’67, the recipient of the Aliw Hall of Fame Award for Best Group Performer in Hotels. Spirit of ’67 draws up huge crowds from every corner of the city, managing to build an international following even from balikbayan. The band never fails to get the audience up on its feet as it grooves to its favorite tunes of the retro ’60s, ’70s and ’80s.
Behind the name Spirit of ’67 are eight harmonious band members: Vocalists Koo Koo Gonzales, Zoe Zuñiga, Charlie Ysmael and Tony Sbalza; guitarists Al Kaz Borromeo (lead guitar) and Obet Amalia (bass guitar); drummer Arnold Austria; and keyboard player Ronald Vicencio. Spirit of ’67 is managed by Sonny Alvendia.
