Her name, Corazon Noble, means noble heart. But in the pre-World War II Sampaguita movie Panibugho (1941), the actress is a wounded heart because of jealousy.
Corazon plays a nurse in Panibugho opposite Jose Padilla Jr., a doctor. Their love is torn apart by jealousy, but in the end the misunderstanding is resolved — but of course.
Panibugho is the first Noble-Padilla team-up. After the war, they were reunited in Landas na Ginto (1946), again for Sampaguita.
During the liberation of Manila, Corazon was hit by a stray Japanese bullet, leaving her left arm disabled. She nevertheless starred in several Sampaguita movies, including Maynila, Kaputol ng Isang Awit, Tatlong Puso, Backpay and Magkaibang Lahi. — RKC
