The 'glowing promise' of House of Obagi
MANILA, Philippines - With the harsh elements surrounding us in our day-to-day activities, more and more Pinoys men and women are getting conscious about taking care of their skin. But no matter how skin care brands are being hyped in the market, all of them may not give promising results of achieving smooth, clearer complexion or making you look decades younger. Some may also be too strong or mild on skin while others are only effective on certain skin types. It is important and safer to check with your dermatologist first on what product suits your skin best.
Obagi is one skin care brand that makes your skin happy. It is prescribed by 760 affiliated dermatologists nationwide depending on one’s skin requirement. Unlike over-the-counter skin care products, Obagi keeps its promise of attaining a new glow after six and a half weeks with strict compliance with dermatologist’s orders.
But what if you run out of Obagi stock and your Obagi-affiliated doctor’s clinic is already closed? This is where House of Obagi (HOO) comes in.
“A lot of our affiliated doctors requested us to put up a landmark for the product (Obagi) where all their patients can go and pick up the product if their clinics are closed or they are out of the country,” says Alexis Santos, House of Obagi managing director.
House of Obagi carries a wide range of products — from the cleansing gel to clarifying serum to sun block to therapy night creams, etc. — that address all skin problems for all skin types. All branches are conveniently located inside the mall.
Thus, a patient need not wait for the doctor to come home or snatch some precious time in his busy schedule to go to a clinic just to get a toner, facial wash, sun block or other beauty kits. Even the prescribed facial or body treatments/procedures can be done right inside the house that is built for skin issues and concerns. Cosmetic surgery procedures like Blepharoplasty (Upper Eyelid/Deepsetting and Lower Eyelid/Eyebag Removal), Rhinoplasty (Noselift, Tip Plasty and Alarplasty) and Rhytidectomy (Facelift) as well as major procedures like Liposuction, Abdominoplasty and Breast Augmentation are being offered at HOO Trinoma while reconstructive dental procedures are available at Alabang Town Center branch.
“We do treatments or procedures only with the consent/approval of the dermatologist handling the patient’s case. Because when you enter HOO, we check first if your dermatologist is affiliated with us then we will call the doctor to let him know about his patient’s visit then after, we will proceed with the treatments,” Alexis explains. “Same with the purchase of a certain product. The dermatologist should acknowledge it first.”
Hence, it is best to see a dermatologist prior to using the product. One cannot use Obagi without the doctor’s assistance, thus the equation, Obagi + affiliated board- certified dermatologist = House of Obagi.
Walk-in clients are welcome, too. Each HOO branch has in-house dermatologists who will gladly check on the client before he buys Obagi products. Obagi Signature Treatments and minor procedures are done by HOO staff consisting of registered nurses.
“If the visiting client is so interested in Obagi but he’s from the province and cannot come to Manila every month, we will ask him to choose from our list of affiliated dermatologists in his area to guide him in applying the product,” Alexis says.
That way, Obagi will never cease in helping attain beautiful, healthy skin. The use of Obagi started when Dr. Zein Obagi formulated a medical product for all skin types. It has been popular worldwide for 25 years now. In the Philippines, Obagi has been effective and safe for both men and women since its introduction to the market 11 years ago.
The growing number of House of Obagi stores only proves Obagi medical products are being patronized by more and more people. Aside from the Trinoma, Greenbelt 5 and Alabang Town Center branches, House of Obagi recently opened shops at SM Pampanga and SM North EDSA. Soon to open is another branch at Robinsons Place in Ermita.
