Wanda Sykes on 2nd Ave

MANILA, Philippines - Emmy Award-winning actress and comedian Wanda Sykes (photo) returns to 2nd Avenue this time with her very own talk show, The Wanda Sykes Show. Watch out as the queen of late-night comedy will have you laughing all night long. Best known by 2nd Avenue viewers as the funny best friend Barb on The New Adventures of Old Christine, Sykes brings her own brand of funny to this innovative new talk show premiering July 28, Wednesday, at 9 p.m.

Apart from television, Sykes has made waves in movies and around the US comedy circuit. Best known for her role as an assistant to Jane Fonda in 2005’s Monster-in-Law and as the voice of Stella the skunk in Over The Hedge, she has starred in over 10 major motion pictures.

 Her first big break in entertainment came with The Chris Rock Show in 1997. As a performer and writer on the show for five years, she was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards and in 1999 won the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music, or Comedy Special.
