TV5 hits 'goal' with Ben 10
MANILA, Philippines- TV5 is pitching another “goal” in the morning block as Ben 10, its newest animated series, gains even more audience from kids to kids at heart alike. Shown on weekdays at 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. and on weekends at 9:30 a.m., the series enjoys high ratings among its competition.
Ben 10, an original series from Cartoon Network, is a story of a 10-year-old boy named Ben Tennyson. Just like a typical boy his age, Ben plays video games, rides bike and is a bit of a trouble maker. One day while on a camping trip with his grand pop Max and cousin Gwen, he discovered a strange watch called the Omnitrix. The mysterious watch-like device has the ability to transform its wearer into bizarre alien forms like Heatblast, Upgrade, Grey Matter, Stinkfly, Ghostfreak, Ripjaw, Wildmutt, Fourarms, XLR8 and Diamondhead by uniting the DNA of an alien with the DNA of the person wearing the device. While he knows that his acquired powers should only be used for the good, Ben’s kid side still strikes for a little super-powered mischief every now and then.
Each time he gets in trouble, Ben seeks the assistance of Gwen, his level-headed cousin who analyzes the consequences of Ben’s situation. Despite their occasional arguments, Gwen helps Ben use the Omnitrix to his advantage. Both enjoy their grandfather Max’s company, especially during their traditional summer road trip. A good-humored grandpa, Max is a member of a secret agency called The Plumbers. The group is tasked to protect earth from aliens, so Max always tries to assist Ben in dealing with his morphs.
