Gloria and Nestor the 2nd time around

MANILA, Philippines - The first Gloria Romero and Nestor de Villa starrer, Lawiswis Kawayan, was such a hit that a second time around was called for. It was another musical-comedy titled Tugtuging Bukid, circa 1962.

Sampaguita Pictures ‘borrowed’ Nestor from LVN, paired with its queen, Gloria Romero.

Gloria, of course, was identified with Luis Gonzales, her leading man in many box-office hits. Actually, she was paired successfully with other Sampaguita actors, notably Ramon Revilla and Ric Rodrigo.

Nestor, on the other hand, was the favorite leading man of LVN queen Nida Blanca. But then he also was paired with other LVN actresses like Charito Solis and Delia Razon.
