Cesar now a Kapuso

MANILA, Philippines - Cesar Montano (photo) has just been signed up by GMA, making him a true-blue Kapuso. Yesterday, Cesar joined a pictorial with Aljur Abrenica and Rhian Ramos, his co-stars in Romana Santa, his first soap starrer as a Kapuso. Shooting starts today.

His turning Kapuso must have caught many people by surprise because only last Saturday, Cesar acted as temporary host for Wowowee, the noontime show of ABS-CBN , GMA’s rival station. Up to now, Wowowee hasn’t found a fitting (temporary) replacement for Willie Revillame who is on a three-month ‘vacation’ until September.

Actually, Cesar almost signed up with GMA in 2007. He was already on his way to GMA when he got a call from Malacañang inviting him to join the administration’s senatorial line-up in that year’s elections. Cesar did but lost. He also ran last May 10 for governor of Bohol but also lost.
