Cinco breaks 'horror rules'
MANILA, Philippines - Cinco comes from a new breed of creative and emboldened movie directors and visionaries that will push the horror genre to the next level. It has five horrifying episodes untied by a single element. Star Cinema will break the horror conventions of the Philippine cinema when it shows Cinco in theaters starting July 14.
One of the episodes in the series is Braso, topbilled by three of the most good-looking members of Gigger Boys: Sam Concepcion, AJ Perez and Robi Domingo.
“We’re happy that the management entrusted us with a movie. Ibig sabihin, alam nilang kaya namin, at the same time, andun yung kaba… pressure to deliver, especially horror ito,” Sam said in an interview.
AJ is thrilled to be with his buddies. “Another fun experience for us. People would normally see us dancing in A.S.A.P. but this movie will show our versatility as performers. Talagang pinaghirapan po namin lahat ng eksena dito.”
Robi, an MYX VJ and PBB Season 2 runner-up had a good time working with his co-actors and director. “We’re comfortable working together since we’ve already worked together in Your Song Presents Boystown a few months ago. Minsan, takutan pa kami... (laughs). Direk Frasco is very fun to work with… Pag kulitan, kulitan, pag trabaho, trabaho kami… ang galing niya mag-motivate.”
The Braso episode is the first film directorial job of Frasco Mortiz. He is one of ABS-CBN’s young and brilliant directors. Kapitan Boom, Gokada Go!, Eva Fonda, Goin’ Bulilit and Banana Split are some of his shows on Kapamilya network.
“Medyo kinabahan kasi ito ang first movie ko, in collaboration with four of the most creative minds in the industry. Makabagong paraan ng paglalahad sa mga kwentong kakaiba,” says direk Frasco.
The episode also stars Baron Geisler, Cristel Moreno and Fred Payawan.
