MANILA, Philippines - GMA 7’s 24 Oras and Saksi are still the viewers’ leading source of news information based on the April to June 2010 (until June 24) Mega Manila individual ratings data and audience share data from AGB Nielsen Philippines.
24 Oras topped TV Patrol World from April to June 24 with an audience share lead of 1.2 percent and 0.7 rating points.
Based on the individual audience share data, 24 Oras led TV Patrol World with 1.1 percent last April; 1.5 percent last May; and 0.8 percent up to June 24.
Saksi, on the other hand, clearly dominated Bandila from April to June 24 with a total of 2.4 rating points. Last April, it posted a two-rating points lead over the competing station’s newscast. The following month, Saksi posted 5.7 rating points against Bandila’s 2.9, a commanding lead of 2.8 rating points.
From June 1 to 24, Saksi clearly bested the competition with 2.5 rating points according to the individual ratings data from AGB Nielsen, the widest-subscribed and the industry’s recognized ratings provider.
Individual ratings — also called People Ratings — is the key information that advertisers look into because individual data measures the actual “eyeballs” or the number of people watching.
The April to June 24 individual ratings and audience share data, like the rousing success of Eleksyon 2010, GMA 7’s election coverage which clearly outclassed the competition — further affirm the status of GMA News and Public Affairs as the most preferred and most trusted broadcast news organization in the country.
24 Oras has been the top primetime newscast since taking the lead in the period of Nov. 22 to Dec. 31, 2004. Saksi, on the other hand, is the leading late night newscast for almost seven years now.
The latest available partial data for June individual ratings from AGB Nielsen continue to show that both 24 Oras and Saksi are ahead of the competition.
Bannered by the most formidable and credible names in local broadcasting today — broadcast journalists Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco for 24 Oras and Arnold Clavio and Vicky Morales for Saksi — and powered by the country’s most respected news team that has won both local and international honors, GMA 7’s evening newscasts continue to work tirelessly to earn the trust of the viewers.
