FPJ's brother dies

MANILA, Philippines - Conrad Poe (photo), half-brother of Fernando Poe Jr., died of heart attack last Friday, June 25. He was 62.

He was the son of Fernando Poe Sr. and Patricia Mijares.

Conrad, whose nickname is Dinky, used the screen name Carlo Roldan when he started out in the movies via Virgo Productions’ Pritil in 1970.

As Conrad Poe, he was introduced in Romeo and Juliet, his first movie. Former senator Ramon Revilla gave him his break in Hulihin si Tiagong Akyat of Imus Productions.

He played second lead in Cavite Boy and his first starring role was in Silang Mga Bayani. He played the title role in Boy Negro.

Conrad’s remains lie at the Arlington Memorial Chapels. Interment has yet to be announced.
