MANILA, Philippines - Some 5,000 runners are expected to join the Run a Kilometer for Kerygma or K for K, a fun run aiming to raise funds for orphans, abandoned elderly, street children, out-of-school youth and women in crisis.
K for K which is open to the public will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds on May 29 at 5:30 a.m.
The fun run will be led by lay evangelist Bro. Bo Sanchez, founder of the best-selling inspirational magazine Kerygma.
Bo with his family and friends founded the Light of Jesus Family, a prayer community helping charitable institutions which are K for K’s beneficiaries.
The institutions are Anawin Lay Missions Foundation for abandoned elderly; Grace to Be Born, a shelter for women in crisis; Tahanan ng Pagmamahal, an orphanage; Pag-asa ng Pamilya, a scholarship program for out-of-school youth; He Cares, a home with a livelihood program for street children; Light of Jesus Counseling Center which gives 24-hour telephone counseling service; and Shepherd’s Voice Radio and Television Foundation which takes care of inspirational broadcast programs such as Kerygma TV, Inside the Fish Bowl and Mustard TV.
Registration fee is P250 for adults and P100 for children 12 years old and below. Adult participants will receive a packet which includes a race number, K for K shirt, a certificate and sponsor freebies.
