Jake can't bear to let Melissa go

Tabloid news says Melissa Ricks and Jake Cuenca admitted they have broken up. The couple never admitted they were on. Is this a case of “hindi naman umamin na sila na, nag-break na?”

The Buzz interviewed Jake on the supposed relationship and break-up. Jake admitted that what he and Melissa have is something special, but they have yet to become a couple, officially. “Wala pa kami sa stage na ‘yon. We are taking our time and work is our  priority.” Jake also admitted that he says “I love you” to Melissa but kissing her is part of his dreams.

On the rumor that he and Melissa have broken up, Jake said, “I can’t bear to let her go. She is very special to me. Sa isyung hiwalayan, walang hiwalayang naganap. Hindi pa kami. Pero special siya sa buhay ko at mahirap siyang pakawalan.”

Jake will portray Elias Paniki in Agimat: Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla starting May 29. He is also in Rubi with Angelica Pangiban.

Felix: I’ve moved on

Felix Roco will play one of Empress Schuck’s leading men in the new ABS CBN teleserye Rosalka. (The other is Matt Evans). Felix is in the news because of some issues: His parents’ separation and the tattoo on his left wrist. “Yes, hiwalay na po sila ng mom ko. It’s been a long time, but it’s not because of another woman. Mom and dad are still in good terms,” Felix explained. There was no third party, he added. In fact, Felix said that when his father was hospitalized, it was his mom who took care of him because they were all busy with work.

What if his father would have a girlfriend? He said they have already adjusted to it. “It’s his life. I have no right to meddle with his life. It’s okay with me if he has a girlfriend. Of course, it’s hard at first. But for me, it’s just about accepting it and adjusting to the situation. Pero tanggap ko na talaga matagal na.”

He’s also past that rebellious stage that some people alleged stemmed from his parents’ separation. “It was not because of them. I did not run away from home. I did not do drugs. I drank alcoholic beverages, but I’m not alcoholic.”

He is also in good terms with his father whom he had misunderstanding with. “We already talked. I love him with all my heart.”

The tattoo on his left wrist which many people are asking about is his mom’s name. “I love tattoos. We all have tattoos including my mom. My dad has none.”

Lisa Macuja as Giselle

Prima ballerina Lisa Macuja-Elizalde of Ballet Manila performed one of her favorite roles — and one of classical ballet’s most beloved heroines — Giselle. The two-act production, presented by the Manila Broadcasting Company, was held at the Aliw Theater, CCP Complex, Pasay City.

Giselle is part of Lisa’s year-long celebration of her 25th anniversary as a professional ballerina. The last time she portrayed this role was in 2005 and admittedly, it is one that she missed dancing.

“It is one of the most dramatic ballets that a ballerina can be privileged enough to dance in, and also one of the most exhausting roles. It’s a story of love so strong that it causes a girl’s madness and death. It also causes her to rise from the grave and save the man who wronged her,” Lisa said.

Lisa had her first soloist role in the full-length production of Giselle as a member of the Kirov Ballet in 1984. She danced then as the Peasant Pas Deux girl in Act 1. Her first performance upon coming home from Russia was as Giselle when the ballet’s Act 2 was presented at the Metropolitan Theater. In that show, she danced opposite Nonoy Froilan, with Osias Barroso dancing the supporting role of Hilarion. The two danseurs would later become two of Lisa’s most enduring partners.
