Cebu's Elvis in charity run

MANILA, Philippines - Cebu’s marathon man and Freeman sports columnist Raffy Uytiepo will be among the celebrity runners who will answer the starter’s gun when the Philstar Run for a Cause fires off today at the SM Mall of Asia grounds.

Raffy who is also the Elvis Presley of the Visayas will run in the 5K category in his signature white jumpsuit. Raffy said he is running in the shorter distance as he is still recovering from a foot injury that sidelined him for three months. Freeman GM Bhoy Mendoza said Cebu’s oldest newspaper is providing Uytiepo’s plane ticket. Pilipino STAR’s Angie Isidro bared that Uytiepo has been requested to belt out a few Elvis songs at the awarding ceremonies. Besides being Cebu’s top race organizer, Uytiepo has performed as Elvis in several hotels in the Visayas.
