Eurasia tours Asia
MANILA, Philippines - Eurasia embarks on an Asian tour to showcase its talent. The series of performances is bringing the girl group to neighboring countries such as Malaysia and Singapore.
Having gone to Hong Kong and Taiwan before, Eurasia’s calendar of events proves to be a more solid move backed up by Viva Records and its management under Veronique del Rosario-Corpus of the Viva Artists Agency. The Asian tour schedule begins today until April 26 at Genting Highlands in Malaysia and ends on May 16 at Hard Rock Café, Singapore.
The country’s answer to Korea’s Wonder Girls, Eurasia is said to be revolutionizing the image of local girl groups, with emphasis on their long professional track record as performers and trained voices that make them tailor-made for recordings. The group’s Viva released self-titled album is out in the market, attesting to its reputation especially with such a rendition of the `80s hit Working Girls. The number is theme to the 2010 remake of the girl-power movie starring Ruffa Gutierrez, Eugene Domingo, Cristine Reyes, Jennylyn Mercado and Bianca King.
The 12-track album contains originals with carrier single Ikaw Ay Perfect. Other cuts are Kaya Mo Yan, Honey My Honey, Don’t Be Shy, Boy, Hinding-hindi (Ka Magsisisi), Floating, All I Want, Init Ay Madarama, Sumayaw, Walk Like An Egyptian and Mambobola.
Eurasia is composed of Fil-Japanese Kristine Nieto (first runner-up of Be Bench), Fil-German Lana Roi (pageant winner spearheaded by Century Tuna), Pinay Gail Nicolas (2007 Mossimo Bikini Summit grand champion), Fil-Italian Sara Polverino (of Ang TV) and Fil-British Kelly Ann Gamboa.
The group regularly appears on GMA-7’s Party Pilipinas and has now been performing thrice a week (Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays) at the first-class Resorts World Manila.
Other Asian tour dates will be on April 28 (Hard Rock Café, Kuala Lumpur); April 29 to May 3 (SuperStar Virgo, Star Cruises); May 3 to 7 (Star Pisces, Star Cruises); May 6 (Hard Rock Café, Penang); May 8 to 10 (Genting, Malaysia); and May 11 to 15 (Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore).
