Kelly Clarkson coming for show
MANILA, Philippines - Confirmed: Kelly Clarkson (photo), the first American Idol (2002), will have a concert at the Araneta Coliseum on May 1.
The show will be produced by Nigel Peters in partnership with Vernon Go (editor of Pulp magazine) of Pulp Live Productions which is also producing the Super Young concert at the same venue on April 10.
Since winning AI, Clarkson has recorded and released four studio albums:Thankful (2003), Breakaway (2004), My December (2007) and her latest, All I Ever Wanted (2009). All in all, she has sold over 50 million records worldwide, due to extensive touring, as well as the obvious strength and catchiness of her hits which include A Moment Like This, Breakaway, Because Of You, My Life Would Suck Without You (her current No. 1) and her ultimate anthem, the upbeat, rocking Since U Been Gone which earned her a Grammy for Best Female Pop Performance in 2006. She also won a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album (for Breakaway) in that same year, as well as a total of 12 Billboard Awards, four American Music Awards and three MTV Video Music Awards.
Since its release in March 2009, All I Ever Wanted has spawned three more singles (I Do Not Hook Up, Already Gone and All I Ever Wanted). Clarkson has already toured North America twice in 2009 in support of the album. This year, Clarkson is bringing her live show to Europe and Asia (including Manila on May 1).
