New video releases in March

MANILA, Philippines - Horror. Drama. Action. Comedy. You can choose one, or better yet, get them all and enjoy a movie marathon with these newest video releases this month: Paranormal Activity, Law Abiding Citizen, Bad Lieutenant, and Love On Line.

Inspired by his own mind-boggling experience at home, such as things falling off shelves in the middle of the night, and hearing inaudible noises, writer-director Oren Peli created Paranormal Activity. It tells the story of a young couple who moves into a suburban home, where they sense a presence that may or may not be demonic, especially at night. Organizing their own investigation, Micah and Katie face terror beyond their wildest dreams. The movie stars Micah Sloat and Katie Featherstone.

Thriller and drama are combined in Law Abiding Citizen. It is about a man who is locked up in prison, but is still able to orchestrate a string of assassinations to vindicate the death of his family. Gerard Butler stars as Clyde Shelton, the grieving husband and father-turned-prisoner-avenger. James Foxx plays Nick Rice, an attorney who can also become a victim of Clyde’s wrath if he doesn’t act fast enough.

Nicolas Cage is both a tough cop and a smooth criminal in Bad Lieutenant. His character, Terence McDonagh, is injured in a heroic act and becomes addicted to all kinds of painkillers.

Romance, laughter, and adventure abound in Love On Line, starring Vic Sotto and Paula Taylor. Meeting through Internet chat, Samson and Lily become sweethearts. But Samson’s brother, Tot (Jose Manalo) also falls in love with Lily, and he recalls a magic spell that transforms his physical appearance to that of Samson’s and vice versa. It’s a funny fantasy that challenges Samson and Lily’s relationship in every possible way.
