Dawn of the Apocalypse

A scene from the TV series Supernatural

MANILA, Philippines - Premiering tomorrow, March 8 at 11 p.m. on AXN Beyond, the fifth season of Supernatural will bring a climax of epic proportions to the roller-coaster series. The impending clash of Heaven and Hell will be a fitting swansong for Kripke whose Supernatural is one of the most popular horror drama series worldwide. The end of the world in the show begins with the Winchester brothers having to face Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino, Lost) himself.

At the end of season four, Sam was tricked into killing demon Lilith, thus breaking the last of 66 seals that imprisoned the Devil in Hell. Now free, Lucifer will take the fight to God for his banishment and bring on the Apocalypse.

Meanwhile, the celestial army of warrior-like angels is convinced Armageddon will cleanse Earth to bring Paradise. The angels, except Castiel, want Dean to take his special place in the imminent spectacular battle to slay Lucifer.

Knowing that the clash between the forces of Heaven and Hell will bring death and destruction to mankind, Dean refuses. Instead, he returns to team up with Sam on an impossible mission: To kill Lucifer.

While it is Dean’s destiny to be possessed by Archangel Michael, Sam is revealed to be the destined human vessel for the Devil. Dean and Sam face the greatest test of their brotherhood as the forces of Heaven and Hell threaten to tear them apart, with each side seeking a nod from the respective brother for the possessions to take place. The Winchesters’ only ally is almost powerless fallen angel Castiel (Misha Collins, 24), who miraculously survives after being blown to bits for opposing the angels’ wish to have the Apocalypse take place.
