Top Chef: Masters airs on 2nd Ave

MANILA, Philippines - Top Chef: Masters is the new spin off show of 2nd Avenue’s premier cooking/reality program Top Chef. Top Chef: Masters airs Wednesday nights at 10.

Twenty-four chefs from acclaimed restaurants around America will cook it out to be the first Top Chef Master. The first six episodes will see four chefs competing against each other to win cash donations for their charity of choice. Each episode winner then meet up for the final four weeks when a chef will be eliminated weekly until the winner is crowned on the final episode. The winner will receive $100,000 for the charity of his/her choice.

Chosen to compete in Top Chef: Masters because of their extensive resume in the kitchen the cheftestants include: Art Smith co-owner and executive chef of Table Fifty-Two in Chicago. He is two-time James Beard Award recipient for his cookbook and humanitarian efforts and was Oprah Winfrey’s personal chef.

Rick Bayless, owner of Frontera Grill and Topolobampo, one of America ’s first fine-dining Mexican restaurants. He has won the James Beard Award five times for his cookbooks, restaurants and as National Chef of the Year.

Chef-owner Anita Lo of Annisa in New York City, a French trained chef listed as one of the 500 most influential Asian Americans. Lastly and maybe one of the best-known contestants is Hubert Keller. One of the best chefs in the US, he is co-owner and executive chef of Fleur de Lys in Las Vegas and San Francisco which was awarded one Michelin star in 2006.
