MANILA, Philippines - Kiko Rustia (photo) recently signed an agreement with Olympus to promote its Tough8000 camera. The GMA 7’s Born to be Wild host says he’s a fan of Olympus cameras. The romance with Olympus started when he was given an Olympus camera by his best friend during one of his international trips with him.
Kiko’s fascination with the outdoors started when he was a kid.
“I never excelled in any indoor sports, but outdoor sports always tickled my fancy. It made me believe that the world is my playground,” he recalls.
In his free time, Kiko says he loves to go hiking, mountain biking, dragon-boat rowing and wall/rock climbing. It was his friends from Power-Up Gym and the UP Mountaineers who gave him the chance to get exposed in outdoor activities.
Since then, Kiko has always made the outdoors a part of his life because he feels it has been his privilege to explore what the world has to offer. “I get to travel to places I have never been before — far from the beaten path. I get to see natural wonders other people only dream of, and I get the chance to work with a wonderful team in Born To Be Wild,” he adds. One of his memorable experiences was when he was monitoring humpback whales in Camiguin Norte.
