MANILA, Philippines - It’s literally a date. To make Feb. 14 a “date,” like renewing ties with a special someone or rekindling the feeling, however, is another thing. With or without a date, Jay-R, Kyla and Ai-Ai delas Alas will make perfect background music on Feb. 14 in two separate musical treats.
You can troop to the spacious SMX Convention Center for Jay-R and Kyla’s Groovin’ Love or spend an intimate night at Manila Hotel’s Tent City for Ai-Ai’s Ai Am Your Valentine.
When Jay-R and Kyla perform on stage singing Back In Time, you are drawn to them because of their undeniable chemistry and rapport. They look and sound good together. It reminds one of Jay-R and Kyla’s sappy moments in Love2Love. You cannot resist their soothing voice, soulful interpretation of the songs and the groove in their music.
Get that feeling by watching Groovin’ Love.
“It’s for the young crowd,” shares Jay-R. What makes the show unique is, one can lounge and while the time away as Groovin’ Love unfolds.
Groovin’ Love is a cool, chill-out musical party show capturing the club scene’s fun atmosphere. The concert is divided into segments where Jay-R, Kyla, Billy Crawford and Nikki Gil sing in pairs or in solo numbers. It is a four-in-one treat which promises vocal variety and a possible talent showdown since the artists come from rival networks. Jay-R and Kyla represent the Kapuso team while Billy and Nikki, the Kapamilya team.
Kyla has no qualms sharing the stage with other artists and looks forward to collaborating with them in any work.
After all, music knows no boundaries — and networks. It is for everyone.
Recently, Kyla and Jay-R’s Back In Time won Best Collaboration plum from Wave 89.1 Urban Music Awards. It shows how they enjoy their performance together. Even if fans wish that Kyla and Jay-R’s chemistry leads to romance, the two remain friends. Kyla and
Jay-R have found love in Rich Alvarez and Krissa Mae, respectively. That makes the two just singing soul mates. On Feb. 14, they will never disappoint as they sing your songs and remind you of that little thing called love.
If you look for good music and laughter, watch Ai-Ai’s Ai Am Your Valentine. Let her be your Valentine and performer rolled into one.
“It will be directed by GB Sampedro,” offers the singer-comedienne. “It is fun and offers something new.” Ai-Ai is mum about other details adding mystery to what she will do in the show.
Come November for her 20th anniversary, however, Ai-Ai will cook up a concert showcasing the “best of Ai-Ai” as she puts it. She has begun shedding some pounds to achieve a whistle-bait figure. Why? Ai-Ai will do Madonna and Beyoncé Knowles. She has to look stunning and sultry, especially to men in the audience.
To make Feb. 14 a funny, musical affair, Janno Gibbs, Rufa Mae Quinto, Mark Bautista and Pilita Corrales join Ai-Ai on stage.
On TV, Ai-Ai will be seen as judge along with Freddie Garcia and Kris Aquino for ABS-CBN’s Pilipinas Got Talent.
“Sweet and Maldives,” Ai-Ai describes herself. “There’s so much talent in this country.”
The talent reality show dispels rumors that Ai-Ai might switch channels since her contract will expire soon. This is far from happening for she has two more movies with Star Cinema and a comedy show opposite Aga Muhlach.
With Jay-R, Kyla and Ai-Ai around on Valentine’s Day, who can’t be in the mood for love?
