PARIS (AP) — Filmmaker Tim Burton will head the jury at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. The Edward Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory director says heading up the nine-member jury in May is a “great honor.”
Organizers of the French Riviera festival made the announcement in a statement quoting Burton’s reaction. He says, “After spending my early lifewatching triple features and 48-hour horror movie marathons, I’m finally ready for this.”
The 63rd Cannes festival will be held May 12 to 23.
