MANILA, Philippines - Original Penguin has always been known for combining the classic with modern aesthetics, the traditional with the fashion-forward, so it comes as no surprise that it has chosen a rock star known for his innate fashion sensibilities as the face of its latest campaign.
Tyson Ritter, frontman of All-American Rejects is known for giving his own rock star twist to classic-cut shirts, accessorizing them with likewise simple fashion elements. The result is nothing close to simple, but something quite unique, unpretentious and creative.
“He understands the Original Penguin style and wears it well,” says Pablo de Echeverria, senior vice president for marketing of Perry Ellis, mother company of Original Penguin.
All-American Rejects have sold over 10 million records worldwide. Their self-titled debut album in 2002 reached platinum in the US, while their equally successful second album, Move Along produced the hits Dirty Little Secret and It Ends Tonight.
Its latest album, When The World Comes Down, was released in December—likewise to much success with its first single, Gives You Hell getting popular radio airplay.
Original Penguin Shops are found at Power Plant Mall, Shangri-La Plaza, SM Mall of Asia, and SM Megamall. Soon to open are branches at Bonifacio High Street and Trinoma.
